Skiing in a "Bad" Season Skiing in a "Bad" Season

Good Season, Bad Season.  What does that really mean?  Even in a "Bad" season you can still get a lot of good skiing when you live in the Northwest.  You just have to work a little harder to find good snow.  We rarely are lacking in precipitation.  We just struggle with freezing levels.  Just be glad you don't live in a desert like Colorado.  At least we can just go higher to find snow.  I know it means more work but we still get to ski, and any season that has skiing in it is a good season.

High pressure means beautiful views and recycled powder at higher elevations. High pressure equates to beautiful views and recycled powder at higher elevations.

I think people are too quick to judge the quality of the season in the first few months.  They give up too easily.  Yes, it does take more motivation to make it happen in a season like this, but how badly do you want it?

Enjoy every turn no matter what the season provides. Enjoy every turn no matter what the season provides.

All these pictures were taken this year.  The good days haven't been as plentiful as most years but they are there if you put in the effort.  You just have to be in a position to get lucky.

Catching a little air in Poster Peak Bowl. Getting lucky in Poster Peak Bowl.

Are you ready to put in that extra effort?  You never know when you might get lucky.

Not a bad year when you are getting turns like this. Not a bad year when you are getting turns like this.
