I think it is fair to say that the February storm is one of the longest, most productive storms I've seen in a long, long time.  I tallied up the snow totals at the yurt, which are taken twice a day, from when the storm started on February 9th until February 23rd, and the total snowfall during that time frame was 352 centimeters.  That is over eleven feet of snow in two weeks (for those of you who prefer their snow measurements in good old 'merican).  Not bad.

The Tipping Point

It looks like there is a storm forecasted to hit the region today and tonight.  This storm could lay down a fair bit of snow.  Something we’ve all be waiting for.   With that in mind we need to make sure we are keeping our desires for pow in check.

Backcountry Conditions Report - Last Report of 2012/13

This will most likely be the last backcountry conditions report for the 2012/13 ski season.  The DOT will start plowing the highway on Monday March 25, which will shut down snowmobile access to the ski terrain around Washington Pass.  While there will still be some great turns to be had after the highway opens, the plowing of the highway is the symbolic end of winter for us at NCMG.  There is still one last weekend to enjoy winter powder skiing.  Don't miss out.
