Don Holt, Mark Albrecht and Scott Momburg
Beckey Route- Liberty Bell- August 6th, 2007

| After climbing Baker and Shuksan over a long
weekend, you'd think that Don, Mark and Scott would be ready
for a rest day. Instead this group of friends from Colorado,
Ohio and Minnesota continued their Northwest climbing tour de
force, and arrived at the NCMG headquarters on Monday morning,
ready for more. A forceful thunderstorm had blown through the
mountains the night before, and the trail up towards Liberty
Bell was streaked with runnels from the recent downpour. However,
by 9:00 the rock was dry and the skies were clear. With one
Canadian group ahead of the NCMG group we had some time to admire
the view from the top of the narrow approach gully, and once
on the rock Katharine Bill led the team of three to the top
of Liberty Bell by lunch-time. The weather held, no cameras
were dropped, Scott overcame his strong dislike for rappelling,
and all in all it was another fine day of mountaineering in
the North Cascades |
